A week at rincon beach March 2008
|
With the twins in Hawaii for the week, we headed to
Rincon Parkway for "a few days".
The weather was great, the sunsets beautiful, and the
bike riding perfect. ( 135 miles and the final day a time
trial of 12 miles at 16.5 MPH). Marge and Lane joined us
for dinner one night , we met a two very nice couples
(Randy and Chrissy and Mike and Mimi(did I get that
right?) with whom we had lots of good wine. We knew
Randy was OK when he walked up to introduce himself
and he had a Rancho Sisquoc wine glass in his hand!
The first night we had a rocket launch from Vandenberg
AFB. Always an exciting event.
We rode up to Ojai for our usual fish and chips lunch and
out to check on McGrath State Beach.
We had lunch at a Chipotle Mexican restaurant since
they are the sponsors of one of the teams in
the Tour de France this year. OK but not as good as the
little place in Ventura Harbor where we ate fish tacos.
A few days turned into a week since Tom and Mickey
were at Rincon, Marge and Lane are working on the
new house at Camarillo and could join us for dinner and
the folks behind us were Central Coast wine lovers.
Back to work tomorrow morning at 7:00AM.

Missile launch. The missile is
headed away from us so the
track is not very long,
MA beside one our favorite sculptures
along the Ventura River Bike Way
Blue Heron at Emma Wood
Wine drinking on the beach
For the folks in Louisiana and
Texas... here are our Lupines called
Blue Bonnets in Texas.
On the beach at Rincon (Beach Boys sang about
this place) Watch the sunset then have dinner.
Salmon with asparagus and brown rice.
Champagne, Domain Alfred Rose and Ficklin Port
The missile looked like it was headed down the Pacific Missile Range.
First is a Google picture
