On the beach

After graduation in '57 I spent the balance of the
summer in Cameron after Audrey destroyed it . In
September I went to Centenary College and after
two years moved on to LSU from which I
graduated in Feb 1962( Yes that 's an extra
semester) with a BS in Physics. I married Mary
Ann Page of Baton Rouge (from my chem class at
LSU) in Feb 1962 and we moved to Kingston, NY
where I went work for IBM in a lab. In 1963 I
enlisted in the Navy , went to OCS and in 1964
joined the USS Perkins(DD877) in San Diego. Our
first child (Scott) was born while I was in Viet
Nam the first time; another tour in 1966 and I left
the Navy in 1967 and rejoined IBM in Los
Angeles. Mary Ann and I had our second child
(Katherine) in Dec 1967. We have lived in LA ever
since. I retired from IBM in 1992 and at once we
left in our motor home for two years exploring the
country. We have twin granddaughters, born on
New Year Eve 1998, and a step-granddaughter in
Seattle; the three are the center of our lives. With
Scott living in Seattle and Katherine and the
twins here we have the whole west coast to
explore on our bikes and in our RV.

A set of links to great pictures and
articles about Mt Everest. A friend
from IBM days, Jack Reader, was on
the mountain in March 2008 and sent
along these links:
