In Feb. 1958 John & I were married. We had 4
children (3 Sons and a daughter). Boys were
named John R. Stroderd, Jr. - age 47, Mark A.
Stroderd - age 46, and Mitchell Leon Stroderd -
age 42. Daughter was named Hope Lavaughan
Strodered who is now age 34. Three of the 4
children received college degrees. Very proud of
that record.
Those children gave us 7 grandchildren. Rusty
had 2 sons, Mark had 2 daughters, Mitch had 1
daughter and Lavaughan has 2 daughters. John
& I both enjoyed the grandchildren so much.
Amazing what they do. John died before any of
the grandchildren were grown. Shortly after his
death they named one of the baseball fields
after him. Wish he would have seen it. I have
been very fortunate and still living and watching
each one do their own thing. Rustys youngest
son was pulled out of Afghanistan and sent to
Iraq with the first group that went in. He was a
demolitionist expert. Was so worried about him
but God sent him back home 8 months later the
same as he left except for the memories of the
war.
I worked most of my life but have now retired. I
live in Westlake, LA however, did live in Houston
and loved it. Looking forward to seeing all at the
reunion.
