Clarice Ann “Papoose" Morvant
Sulphur, LA
After graduating from SHS, I
attended Northwestern State
College and earned a B.S. degree in
1962. I taught school in Rapides
Parish for half a year, then came
home and taught 20 years in
Calcasieu Parish.
While at N.S.C., I spent my
summers working at a Girl Scout
camp in Simsboro, La. After I came
back home to teach, my first
summer was spent working at a
private camp in Maine and the
second summer in Arizona. After
that, I used my summers to play
softball and attend McNeese State
College, earning a master's degree
in 1968 and a specialist degree in
1973.
Since I gave up softball, at 35
years of age, I've enjoyed duck
hunting with my dad and friends,
dove hunting in Mississippi, playing
in a Cajun band, fishing, playing golf,
snow skiing, traveling in the U.S.
and Europe.

I am now enjoying retirement!
