Guess who I got to see Tuesday afternoon? Josh and Bri were on their way from San Antonio to Georgia and we met at the Cracker Barrel on I-10 for about 2 hours. We had a great visit and they left for Lake Charles to spend the night with Debbie and Mark. (Debbie is Joy's daughter.) I called them late yesterday and they were almost to Tallahassee FL. Josh has to report to his base, Fort Stewart, near Savannah today and Bri reports to Fort Benning on Friday. After she completes her parachute training, they should be together in Savannah, if I understood correctly.
They both enjoy what they're doing and I am so proud of them. They make a such cute couple. Bri laughs at his jokes and stories like she hasn't heard them before and that just keeps him going.... so funny.
Josh spent a year in Germany then deployed to Kuwait and served two tours of duty in Iraq. They were both from Dayton and married when he was home on leave a couple of years ago. Since they don't plan to have a family anytime soon (key word is plan... ), and since the army will pay off all of her college loans, Bri decided to join the army also. She is a physician's assistant, so she's been in San Antonio for additional medical training. Funny, since Bri is an officer and Josh isn't, we tease him about having to salute her..... HAHAHA! She just grins.
