After graduation I worked in Lake Charles for Gulf
States Utilities 4 years.    Married an airman in
December of 1961 and moved to Santa Maria,
California.  Worked for Lockheed Missiles and Space on
Vandenberg AFB where I was privileged to see many
missile launches including the first Titan II.  My only
child, Alesia, was born in April of 1963 in Santa Maria.
In the spring of 1964 we moved back to Lake Charles
and a few months, then to Houston.  We bought a 70
year old 2-1/2 story house in League City and had
remodeled it enough to move in but it burned to the
ground before we got to live there.  I worked as a
secretary until 1966.    The next 18 years were spent
as bookkeeper, computer operator, and sales person
for 2 wire rope and sling companies. Divorced in 1972.
Worked for The John W. Mecom Company in the
accounting department 4 years.    In 1988 the company
closed and I sold my house in Texas and moved to Simi
Valley, California, where my daughter and year and a
half old grandson lived.  The month after I arrived my
granddaughter was born.  They are now and have
always been the joy of my life.

Bought a little place in the San Bernardino National
Forest in 1998, a little town called Sugarloaf.  The
altitude is 7200 feet and it has been a challenge
learning how to cook here.  Unlike Joey, I love to cook
and have become the neighborhood Nanny and desert
maker.  My neighbors are great and we enjoy getting
together for whatever we decide to do.

The end of April 2006 I retired from Kinamed after
working as the Accounting Manager 13 years; still
work for them as a consultant.  Kinamed is a research
and development company and manufacturer of hip,
knee, shoulder and cranio implants and surgical
instruments. You can see them at

To summarize, my life has been great, was married
once, in love many times, still have my teeth, a great
sense of humor and a sharp mind. I have a few true and
faithful friends whom I cherish.  My health is good
except for my back which I injured some years ago
while running down (falling down) a hill with my dog.
Walking is a real challenge some days, but that don't
slow me down very much.  Each day I am so thankful
that I grew up in Louisiana,  attended Sulphur High
School where we got a great education, had wonderful
role models and have classmates who believe in God
and Country.  I am so looking forward to our 50 year
reunion.  The emails from Joey, Pie  and everyone just
make my days.
