Barbara Lynd had a 24-yr. career as
journalist -- 19 yrs. as newspaper
editor -- during which she was also a
freelance writer for numerous national
magazines and newspapers. She is
the recipient of 20 national journalism
awards. She has written and
published 3 books. The last one,
written since her stroke and
subsequent retirement in 1998, was
published in 2002 and also received a
national award. She has lived in
Lafayette, LA since 1962. She has 4
sons, 9 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren. She is married to
Rick Gutierrez since 1984, with whom
she has 4 step-children and 6
step-grandchildren.
